A glass-front retail container turns a standard 20ft footprint into a shop with real presence. The container body stays structural; the frontage opens up. Units are used as retail stores, coffee and drinks kiosks, pop-up shops and camp retail points.
What is a glass-front retail container?
Definition: A 20ft container converted into a shop or kiosk with a large flip-up or folding serving window, glazed door and external bar counter, finished with custom branding. Also known as: container kiosk, container shop, modular retail unit, container storefront.
Product overview
The frontage is the whole point. A flip-up serving window hinges upward on struts and creates an awning-style opening with a bar counter beneath it — the format coffee and drinks operators use. A folding window gives a wider clear opening and a flatter frontage, which suits product display and retail pick-up.
Behind the counter, the floor plan is left open so that display units, shelving, refrigeration and a counter run can be placed to suit the operator. Electrical provision is pre-wired for lighting, display circuits and refrigeration, so no shopfitting programme is needed — the unit is a shop the day it lands.
Two frontage styles
| Style | Window | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Flip-up (teal) | Large upward-hinging window on struts with external bar counter | Coffee, drinks, food service, ticketing |
| Folding (pink) | Wide horizontal folding window with slim frame | Retail display, product pick-up, merchandise |
Both use an aluminium-framed glass door and glazed side returns so that the interior stays visible even when the window is closed.
Where they are used
- Retail stores — permanent shops on commercial streets
- Coffee and drinks kiosks — scenic areas, promenades, camp canteens
- Pop-up shops — brand activations, markets and events
- Scenic commercial streets — matched alongside our Container Street range
- Camp retail — site shops and canteens inside large camps
Branding is part of the product
Because the entire exterior is a paintable steel surface, the unit doubles as a brand asset. Corrugated body, window surrounds, counter fascia and signage are all finished in your colours — which is why containers have become the default format for pop-up retail.
Complete the commercial street
Retail kiosks are ordered together with our Container Street range when a commercial street or retail cluster is being built, sharing the same footprint and finishes so the street reads as one development. Send us your floor plan and branding and we will quote the unit turnkey.

Fast Assembly
Pre-fabricated and modular design allows rapid on-site deployment: the shell assembles in 2-4 hours, and most units are fully deployed within 24-48 hours, minimizing labor costs and project timelines.
Cost-Effective Shipping
Optimized flat-pack design drastically reduces shipping volume. Multiple units can be loaded into a single container, saving up to 75% on international freight costs.
Built to Last
Corrosion-resistant galvanized steel frame with premium insulation. Engineered to withstand extreme weather, from scorching deserts to freezing mountains.
Stackable Design
Up to 3 stories with structural integrity. Modular connection system enables flexible expansion as your needs grow over time.
