Light Steel Frame
Modular Activity House
A building-type prefabricated structure — not a container. Bolted galvanised light steel frame with sandwich panel walls and roof, assembled on site, stacked two storeys, and fully demountable so the components can be re-used on the next site.
What it is
The activity house is a light-gauge galvanised steel frame clad with sandwich panels, bolted together on site. Panels, frames, stairs and walkway all arrive flat-packed; nothing is welded on site and no wet trades are needed. Because the connections are bolted rather than welded, the building can be taken down and re-erected — which is why it is the standard choice for temporary construction worker accommodation, labour camps and project offices.
Standard configuration
- ✓ Room module 3000 × 6000 mm, linkable in a row to any block length
- ✓ Two-storey stacking with a stronger second-level frame and taller columns
- ✓ Continuous external corridor along one side, with canopy and railing
- ✓ Galvanised steel staircase at one or both ends, matching the building frame
- ✓ 50 mm rock wool sandwich panel walls and roof, A-grade fire performance (GB 8624-2012)
- ✓ Bolted connections throughout — demountable and re-usable, no site welding
Activity house vs container house
A container unit is a steel box that arrives finished; an activity house is a frame-and-panel building assembled on site. The activity house wins when you need a two-storey block with continuous external corridors, when the site cannot take a crane for finished boxes, or when the building must be dismantled and re-used. The container unit wins when you need a finished room shipped complete and placed in one lift. We build both, so the recommendation follows the site, not the product.
